Regional Closing Workshop of Transport and Climate Change in the ASEAN Region

Since end of 2012, GIZ has been commissioned by the German government to provide technical cooperation to ASEAN under the project “Energy Efficiency and Climate Change Mitigation in the Land Transport Sector in the ASEAN Region” or Transport and Climate Change (TCC). In a nutshell, the project supports ASEAN in implementing its regional agenda for sustainable transport and connects this with support for national level action in selected AMS (Indonesia, Malaysia, The Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam). Focal areas are fuel economy, green freight, two-wheelers as well as data and indicators.

WORKSHOP:
Estimating the Benefits of Improving Air Quality: Intro to the BenMAP-CE Tool

USEPA will introduce interested participants to BenMAP-CE, an open-source tool that quantifies the health impacts and economic value of air quality changes. The full-day training session will instruct users in the basic principles of air pollution benefits analysis; how to use the core features of BenMAP-CE; and how to incorporate global air quality monitoring data from USEPA’s AirNow database into such analyses.

AirNow International Collaboration Meeting, Messaging & Outreach and AirNow System and Big Data Demonstration/ Training Sessions

USEPA will introduce participants to the AirNow international collaboration platform, its community, and new initiatives and data sharing experiences, including the use of satellite data and sensors in air quality. The afternoon sessions will allow users to choose between an outreach session and training on the AirNow System & Tools and Management of Big Data.

Launch of the Fuel Economy Chatbot (open)

Together with Toyota, GIZ has developed a digital tool to crowdsource real-world fuel economy data from drivers and to promote transparency on vehicle fuel consumption to policymakers and consumers. The tool consists of a chatbot and a web platform.
